Shake’s Songs of the Week Vol. 16

-

For the last 114 weeks (count em), I’ve been putting together a Weekly Dope playlist that compiles all the music that was released to help fans catch up. On average, each playlist consists of 30-40 songs. So, in an effort to put a little more of a personal touch on things, I’ll also be sharing a list of my personal favorites from the week.

For Volume 16 of my Songs of the Week playlist, there was no way I wasn’t having DRAM kick things off with his incredible cover of Andre 3000’s “Prototype.” From there, The Off Daze (made up of CunninLynguists’ Deacon the Villain and Natti alongside Sheisty Khrist) took control, while T-Pain shared an assortment of unreleased tracks (including a song with Joey Bada$$ and Joe Budden). Amine talked that talk, Cousin Stizz opened up shop, and Sunni Colon provided one of my favorite songs of the year. Young Thug taught us Slime Language with help from Gunna and Lil Baby. Wale remixed a Tamia single, Jack Harlow got the bounce, and Gorilla Zoe resurfaced with a new tune. And to cap it off, things slow down with cuts from Ro James, Tash Sultana, Laye, Anna Wise & Xavier Omar (over Raphael Saadiq production), and Iris Temple.

Apple Music and Spotify playlists available below; with each being updated every Monday morning.

  1. DRAM, “Prototype“
  2. The Off Daze, “Take Control” ft. Lance Fury & Bianca Jade

Help Test Bitcoin.org’s New Design Before Launch

-
A Redesigned Bitcoin.org One of our goals in 2018 has been to modernize the look and feel of Bitcoin.org. Each day, tens of thousands of new users come to Bitcoin.org to learn how to get started using the currency and technology. The site has grown exponentially in popularity as Bitcoin adoption has increased. Last year alone, there were over 30 million visitors to Bitcoin.org. These visitors viewed the site’s pages over 200 million times. Many of these pages are often the first results on search engines for bitcoin-related phrases and terms. As traffic and engagement has increased, however, the design has become very dated. In fact, the current look and feel of the site has pretty much remained the same for ~5 years, going all the way back to 2013. As a result, a large amount of effort and attention has gone into a recent redesign project, that’s getting closer to complete. After holding a community vote on various design options, the community selection has been extend...

Ghost Hunting Theories: Devil’s Hole Caves

-

Devil’s Hole – Death Valley, California Around the world there are legends of caves and crevices that become named “Devil’s Hole” for a myriad of reasons, but all of them are dark ones. Let’s explore just some of the Devil’s Holes found in the United States. Arkansas Devil’s Hole Cave LINK:    O ne day, an indeterminate number of years ago, the owner of the land where the cave is located decided to check out the place. He climbed down a rope about 200 feet to a ledge where the shaft narrows to a point that can only be crawled through. He suddenly heard a vicious hissing from the darkness, perhaps like a large lizard would do, and he made a hasty retreat. Some time later, he and some men from town dropped a flatiron tied to a rope to the same place in the cave. They heard a hissing sound and the rope was pulled hard. When they pulled it back up, they found the flatiron had been badly bent and scored with scratches and teeth marks. They next tried a stone and th...
