Opening on Saturday, September 8th, 2018 at Corey Helford Gallery in Los Angeles, California is artist Soey Milk’s exquisite solo exhibition of new work entitled “ Inflorescence .” Milk’s masterful command of visual ecstasy endlessly delights and intrigues and for “ Inflorescence ,” which means ‘ the art of arranging flowers on an axis ,’ Soey has created an ethereal display of her own memories in various portraits, presented here as metaphorical bouquets. Milk is one of my absolute favorite artists and this exhibition should not be missed if you’re in the Los Angeles area.  It will be on view until October 13th, 2018. I use mainly acrylic paint which allows me the freedom to start painting without having preparatory drawings.   “Along the Muddy River” Mixed Media on Board, 36″ x 48″   When I begin painting I have a basic idea of what I want to do, but I always allow the actual painting process to lead me where it wants to go. I prefer to be a conduit through which creativity can flow.   “In the Flow” Oil on Board, 54″ x 32″   Because acrylic paint dries so quickly, it allows me the freedom to work fast and furiously.
