It seems that the world has a fever, and the only cure is more Swedish House Mafia related news. This past March at Ultra Miami, the group returned to the same stage for the first time in nearly 5 years. Since then one thing and thing only has been on everyone’s mind: was Ultra a one-time thing, or is a Swedish House Mafia reunion tour going to happen. Swedish House Mafia Reunion Updates It did not take long for rumors to begin to fly around the Swedish House Mafia Reunion Tour. Soon it was so clear that reunion tour would happen, artists such as Oliver Heldens and even Steve Angello himself spoke about it casually. Before formally resigning as manager of Swedish House Mafia Amy Thomson she confirmed not only the upcoming tour but as well as new music from the group is currently being produced. Excitement levels are at an all-time high, but one question remains. What will Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso do about their side project when the group reunites? Axwell/Ingrosso Put On H...

Nicki Minaj and Future have cancelled their upcoming NICKIHNDRXX Tour due to “scheduling conflicts” for Future. Nicki plans to reschedule the dates without Future for 2019. Refunds for the previously scheduled North American dates will be available at point of purchase, with new Nicki Minaj on-sale details announced soon.” Earlier today, Page Six reported that a Live Nation source told them: “Nicki’s tour could be the most disappointing ticket sales of the year for any artist. Even her hometown Brooklyn is only 5,050.” No word on whether or not the rescheduled dates will include controversial rapper 6ix9ine, who was sched...

Germany is known for many things – beer, starting world conflicts and, of course, Techno. Germany has always held its Techno roots in high esteem, protecting dance music fans and allowing for unbelievable clubs to operate on a near 24/7 hour basis. Most are familiar with Berghain. The most exclusive club in the world which is notoriously known for its general debauchery as well as strict no photo policy. Now it appears that Berghain might have some competition for best rave spot in Germany. The Zollverein coal mine industrial complex is known for being a technological wonder for the mining industry. When it was opened in the mid-1800’s the industrial world had never seen anything of such scope. The complex would go on to become a UNESCO World Heritage site due to its impact on the energy industry. Germany has recently decided to open the site up for a few exclusive events each year. The main concern is that a UNESCO World Heritage site must be maintained in order to keep its title...

This past weekend both Chris Lake and Deadmau5 took the stage at Das Energi Festival outside of Salt Lake City, Utah. I was watching Chris Lake’s Instagram story when I saw him re-post a fan’s video of his set. The caption reminded me of a story that I forgot over the years. While many dance music fans are best familiar with Chris Lake’s more recent productions such as ‘Losing My Mind’ and ‘Operator’, Chris has been lighting up the house scene for years. Championing Deadmau5’s First Single Chris has been dropping dancefloor heaters for well over a decade now. In fact, his influence was so great in the mid-2000’s that he helped one of the most popular and well-known dance artists in the world get his start. In a 2009 interview Deadmau5 revealed that just before his massive break, he was close to quitting music. Then Pete Tong premiered ‘Faxing Berlin’ on BBC Radio 1, and the rest is history. ‘Faxing Berlin’ was Deadmau5’s first official single. Now, almost 12 years later it stands...

Last week in the chaos of new music Friday, many individuals (us included!) missed a brand new Martin Garrix tune. The track which is a collaboration with CMC$ and features Icona Pop fly under the radar as Marty used his GRX alias for featured credits. Why Martin decided to use this moniker instead of his more recognizable name is unknown. Though it seems reasonable to assume that Garrix did not want to steal focus off of CMC$ who released the single off of Martin’s STMPD imprint. ‘X’s’ is a happy little future gem. Icona Pop on the vocals helps pull this tune together perfectly. It is relaxed, happy and infectious as all get out. Check out the new release below as we all patiently wait for Martin Garrix’s new release which is slated to drop in early September. قالب وردپرس The post You Might Have Missed Martin Garrix’s Latest Release As GRX With Icona Pop and CMC$ appeared first on MusicCosmoS . from WordPress https://ift.tt/2BrkVrR via IFTTT

Awkwafina (real name Nora Lum) had her first breakout with a few jokey rap singles like “My Vag” (a response to the “My Dick” song) and the anti-trust fund anthem “NYC Bitche$,” both of which ended up on her 2014 debut project Yellow Ranger . As you may know, in the time since then, she took to acting (appearing in MTV’s Girl Code , the Seth Rogen movie Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising , and more, and she was profiled in the Bad Rap film), and now she’s in two of the summer’s biggest movies: Ocean’s 8 and Crazy Rich Asians . As a more famous artist than ever, Awkwafina took a moment to write an essay that reflects on her upwards climb, and how “My Vag” and “NYC Bitche$” almost ruined her career. It reads: In 2012 I put a video called My Vag on YouTube, knowing that it probably wouldn’t do well – and it would make the laughing stock of every job interview ever. I wrote a song called NYC Bitches while making $9/hr at a vegan bodega. After it went on YouTube, a man came in asked if I...

It was that kind of genuine negative energy that made Drunks With Guns the greatest punk band ever to bulldoze St. Louis. An ongoing battle between Doskocil’s obnoxious mouth, Stan Seitrich’s Flipper/Black Flag/Sabbath guitar and the massive dumbo rhythm section of bassist Mike DeLeon and drummer Fred Broadhacker, DWG began its rampage in 1984. The quartet’s self-titled debut single sports one of a classic sleeve showing four sauced, weird-looking guys sitting stupefied atop kegs with beers in hand and countless empties of Milwaukee’s Best and Meister Brau at their feet. The three songs inside (mastered from cassette after the reels “accidentally got erased”) are some of the heaviest, stupidest post-HC around — messy, visceral mono-riffs with Doskocil groaning low-rent paeans to car races at the Kiel Auditorium, “giving drugs to little kids” and getting his lights punched out. – [ Trouser Press / Badaboom Gramophone #3 ] St. Louis’ noise punks  Drunks with Guns ‘ ori...
