Former OF MICE & MEN Frontman Austin Carlile Back In The Hospital After A Spinal Fluid Leakage In His Head

-

Former Of Mice and Men frontman Austin Carlile once again finds himself in a hospital bed, dealing with the effects of Marfan Syndrome, a genetic disorder that affects the body’s connective tissue. The disease is the reason he left the band.

Carlile revealed he is currently in the hospital dealing with a cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leak that has been collecting in his head:

“Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leak (have had multiple of them in the past) collecting in my head this time around. Pouches of the fluid are accumulating between my skull & skin leading to swelling in different areas each day. Discover, drain, patch, assessment, repeat. Where, what, why?

Infection of said spinal fluid? Intro: intravenous wide spectrum antibiotics administered daily. Observe. More blood cultures, observe. Currently on day five of this, two hospitals, MRI’s, CT scans, X-rays, EKG’s, ultra sounds, blood work, etc.

I’m at Stanford University Hospital with my specialists once again for further observation & testing. Was just here Friday for sleep/pain study but had to return when another hospital team couldn’t help my unique case/situation.

Another step. Another hurdle Marfan Syndrome throws in my way. Another day I get to kick it in the face & remind it that it doesn’t own me, nor can it keep me down for good.”

We’re sending positive vibes to Austin for a speedy recovery. Last year, Austin was teasing a new project.

Help Test Bitcoin.org’s New Design Before Launch

-
A Redesigned Bitcoin.org One of our goals in 2018 has been to modernize the look and feel of Bitcoin.org. Each day, tens of thousands of new users come to Bitcoin.org to learn how to get started using the currency and technology. The site has grown exponentially in popularity as Bitcoin adoption has increased. Last year alone, there were over 30 million visitors to Bitcoin.org. These visitors viewed the site’s pages over 200 million times. Many of these pages are often the first results on search engines for bitcoin-related phrases and terms. As traffic and engagement has increased, however, the design has become very dated. In fact, the current look and feel of the site has pretty much remained the same for ~5 years, going all the way back to 2013. As a result, a large amount of effort and attention has gone into a recent redesign project, that’s getting closer to complete. After holding a community vote on various design options, the community selection has been extend...

Ghost Hunting Theories: Devil’s Hole Caves

Devil’s Hole – Death Valley, California Around the world there are legends of caves and crevices that become named “Devil’s Hole” for a myriad of reasons, but all of them are dark ones. Let’s explore just some of the Devil’s Holes found in the United States. Arkansas Devil’s Hole Cave LINK:    O ne day, an indeterminate number of years ago, the owner of the land where the cave is located decided to check out the place. He climbed down a rope about 200 feet to a ledge where the shaft narrows to a point that can only be crawled through. He suddenly heard a vicious hissing from the darkness, perhaps like a large lizard would do, and he made a hasty retreat. Some time later, he and some men from town dropped a flatiron tied to a rope to the same place in the cave. They heard a hissing sound and the rope was pulled hard. When they pulled it back up, they found the flatiron had been badly bent and scored with scratches and teeth marks. They next tried a stone and th...
