Big Boi Says Signing Killer Mike And Janelle Monaé Are His Greatest Accomplishments Outside Of Outkast

-

“Finding those artists and seeing that there are artists that can take the baton and run with it. They both kind of knew what they wanted and I didn’t have to really babysit while they were doing it,” the rapper says of Mike and Monaé. “To see where they are right now, I’m like a proud big brother.”

Both artists have achieved success in recent years. Run The Jewels, the rap duo Mike co-founded alongside El-P, has released three albums and is constantly appearing on music festival rosters across the world. Monaé recently released her third album Dirty Computer and has acted in movies such as Moonlight and Hidden Figures.

As for the rapper’s owl obsession, it all started because of his assistant.

“So my assistant, Shay, she’s into birds and the guy who trains her birds brought this owl to the studio one time and I fell in love with him,” Big Boi explains. “I bought two owls, Hooti and Houdini…Mike Tyson had tigers. I got birds.”

In related news, Andre 3000 released two new tracks back on Mother’s Day.

Help Test Bitcoin.org’s New Design Before Launch

A Redesigned Bitcoin.org One of our goals in 2018 has been to modernize the look and feel of Bitcoin.org. Each day, tens of thousands of new users come to Bitcoin.org to learn how to get started using the currency and technology. The site has grown exponentially in popularity as Bitcoin adoption has increased. Last year alone, there were over 30 million visitors to Bitcoin.org. These visitors viewed the site’s pages over 200 million times. Many of these pages are often the first results on search engines for bitcoin-related phrases and terms. As traffic and engagement has increased, however, the design has become very dated. In fact, the current look and feel of the site has pretty much remained the same for ~5 years, going all the way back to 2013. As a result, a large amount of effort and attention has gone into a recent redesign project, that’s getting closer to complete. After holding a community vote on various design options, the community selection has been extend...

Devil’s Hole – Death Valley, California Around the world there are legends of caves and crevices that become named “Devil’s Hole” for a myriad of reasons, but all of them are dark ones. Let’s explore just some of the Devil’s Holes found in the United States. Arkansas Devil’s Hole Cave LINK:    O ne day, an indeterminate number of years ago, the owner of the land where the cave is located decided to check out the place. He climbed down a rope about 200 feet to a ledge where the shaft narrows to a point that can only be crawled through. He suddenly heard a vicious hissing from the darkness, perhaps like a large lizard would do, and he made a hasty retreat. Some time later, he and some men from town dropped a flatiron tied to a rope to the same place in the cave. They heard a hissing sound and the rope was pulled hard. When they pulled it back up, they found the flatiron had been badly bent and scored with scratches and teeth marks. They next tried a stone and th...
