Charities and Blockchain: Can the UN’s Development Programme Help Non-profits Become More Efficient?

Hình ảnh
TL;DR Charity fraud is on the rise resulting in fewer donations as donors don’t want to give money to scammers and untrustworthy organizations. The charity sector needs transparency and traceability. Binance, Tron, and the UN believe blockchain is the solution. The Blockchain Charity Foundation (BCF) partnered with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) with TRON supporting both organizations to facilitate the efficiency of charities with blockchain tech. According to the Annual Fraud Indicator 2017 report , charity fraud has increased by £400 million ($523 million) in 12 months, totaling £2.3 billion ($3 billion) in the United Kingdom last year. This sum only includes scams where perpetrators were setting up fake charities to take advantage of people’s goodwill. But legit charities are also targeted by other crimes, such as embezzlement. These issues result in a bigger problem: fewer donations to charities as people are becoming more suspicious due to a large number ...

The Two-Piece Pants Sets Fashion Girls Favor

When I’m feeling particularly zapped of outfit inspiration, I’ve gotten into the habit of reaching for one of my many pairs of jeans  because I know they’ll make me look cool without really trying. I’ll add one more that allows me to achieve a put-together ensemble using the minimum mental capacity: the two-piece pants set. It’s a microtrend I’ve noticed bubbling up, and one look at fashion girls’ Instagrams confirms that these sets just might be the trend to replace jeans (at least temporarily). Given that they only require your wardrobe basics like a white T-shirt and ankle boots in order to complete the look, this a trend that basically does the work for you and guarantees you’ll come out looking like you know what you’re doing. It’s not traditional pantsuits I’m talking about but pants-jacket sets with a bit of a utilitarian spin on them. The styles I’m seeing the most of at the moment involve boxier, button-down jackets, or “shac...

Maruti Suzuki Share Price: Maruti Suzuki shares lose team on Q2 profit hit

NEW DELHI: Shares of Maruti Suzuki declined over 3 per cent early Friday, a day after the carmaker posted its first profit drop in 18 quarters. The company reported a decline of 10 per cent in net profit for the September quarter on lower demand, higher promotional expenses and currency woes. The stock was 0.82 per cent down at Rs 6,669.80 at 10.10 am. The benchmark Sensex fell 0.69 per cent to 33,456. Maruti Suzuki has declined 32 per cent from its recent highs as surging raw material costs and a falling rupee – Maruti pays about three-fifths of its royalty dues in yens – weighed on the stock, ET reported. The company sees adverse foreign exchange and rising commodity prices, but is confident of its product portfolio. Financial firm Morgan Stanley has an ‘overweight’ view on the stock, with a target price of Rs 8,725. The brokerage said the management of the company maintained its FY19 outlook and acknowledges near-term headwinds. Brokerage firm Phillip Capital has a buy call o...
